The Royal House of the Netherlands wrote on their website: “After the opening of the new office, which employs around 1,700 people, the King spoke with editors-in-chief and journalists about the challenges facing journalism in a media world that is rapidly digitalising and in which press freedom is increasingly under pressure. During a tour, the King visited various editorial offices of newspapers and magazines and see the cartoonists of Donald Duck at work. Lastly, the King visited the printing works where hundreds of thousands of newspapers are printed at night. The studios of Qmusic and Joe and the editorial offices of online brands such as vtwonen and Tweakers are also housed in the new building.”
