Last month, during the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) Forum urban leaders Paco Bunnik, Gwyn Richards, peter cachola schmal, and Do Janne Vermeulen explored how European cities build up—and fill in. They discussed how building heights, carbon considerations, population density, and policy shape very different urban futures.
While Frankfurt grows vertically in a compact core, Gemeente Amsterdam remains low but dense, and London spreads both height and population across a vast metro area. Each city expert shared their insights in the different spatial forms and densities, dove more deeply into these patterns, the policies, and developments shaping these cities.
