Lansingerland-Zoetermeer Station shortlisted for Concrete Award

Date
8 October 2019

Lansingerland-Zoetermeer station has been nominated for the Betonprijs 2019,
the Dutch Concrete Award. The Betonprijs will be awarded during the Betondag on
November 14 in the Van Nelle Factory in Rotterdam.

Lansingerland-Zoetermeer station

The new Lansingerland-Zoetermeer Station is a future-proof, sustainable and green transport hub just outside the city of Zoetermeer. The concrete fencing with a fine-meshed branch structure, executed in prefab reinforced high-strength concrete, catches the eye. The jury writes: “Such fine and delicate concrete is something you don’t see very often. The station is beautiful in terms of architecture and technology and has great impact on the accessibility of the Randstad. This is the next step in concrete technology.”

About the Concrete Award

Every two years the Dutch Concrete Association (Betonvereniging) awards the Betonprijs to projects with an innovative application of concrete. Projects compete in six categories: Civil Construction, Residential Building, Non-Residential Building, Existing Construction, Groundbreaking and Circular. Lansingerland-Zoetermeer Station was nominated in the Civil Engineering category. A jury decides which of the submitted projects will be nominated and which will win per category. All nominated projects also compete for the Future Prize.
