Zuidasdok has been nominated for the 2026 Zuidas Sustainability Award in the Water & Green category for the green platform canopies at Amsterdam Zuid station. The public can vote here for Zuidasdok.

As part of the Zuidasdok design team, Team V Architectuur, ZJA and BoschSlabbers are working together on the transformation of Amsterdam Zuid station into a major public transport hub where sustainable mobility and climate adaptation go hand in hand.

The new and extended train and metro platforms feature approximately 5,000 m² of green sedum roofs combined with solar panels. The roofs retain rainwater, help reduce heat stress and support urban biodiversity, while the solar panels generate renewable energy. Together, these measures contribute to a greener, more climate-resilient Amsterdam.

The project demonstrates how green infrastructure, renewable energy and public transport can be integrated within a complex urban environment, offering inspiration for other stations and infrastructure projects.
