DPG Mediavaert nominated for the National Timber Award

The timber hybrid office Mediavaert of DPG Media Nederland is nominated for the National Timber Awards 2024 by Het Houtblad! Please vote here.
“From the start, it was clear that DPG Media wanted to build an office that was as sustainable as possible with the least possible climate impact. That is why a timber-hybrid construction was chosen: 7,000 m³ of timber was used for the main supporting structure. Where possible, timber was used, concrete and steel were only used where necessary.” – architect Do Janne Vermeulen
Mediavaert is home to various editorial offices and radio stations, including de Volkskrant, Trouw, Het Parool, Qmusic, JOE Nederland, NU.nl and more. King Willem-Alexander opened the sustainable building on October 10th – one of the largest wood-hybrid offices in Europe.
