Team V’s managing director Gerard van Hoorn is stepping down

Date
12 May 2020

From 1 July Gerard van Hoorn will resign his position as business director and shareholder of Team V.

Gerard van Hoorn is one of the founders of Team V. Together with Jeroen van Schooten and Do Janne Vermeulen he established Team V in July 2013. His resignation in 2020 was part of a long-term plan, commencing with the transfer of an important part of his shares to Do Janne Vermeulen in 2015.

Gerard’s merits lie not only in his insight into the design and construction side of the architectural profession, but even more so in his analytical insight into business operations and management. Although Gerard trained and practiced as an architect, he has been primarily involved in managing finance and contracts since 2003. In 2010 he became an active member of the BNA (Royal Association of Dutch Architects), where he spent many years striving for fairer contract conditions for architects.

Throughout these years Gerard carried out his role as business director with a lot of humor, engagement and empathy. A business-oriented architect with a broad interest in current affairs, culture, architecture and art in particular. He has, with his intuitive sense of character, been invaluable in recruiting new talent and forming what is now a solid and unique team. Partly because of his efforts, Team V is now a strong and beautiful architectural office that looks forward to the future.

In recent years, various changes have been made within the organization to make Gerard’s departure as smooth as possible. The management of Team V remains in the hands of Jeroen van Schooten and Do Janne Vermeulen. They are supported by the Management Team, consisting of Office Manager Leo Pierik and Associate Architect Irène Horvers. Gerard van Hoorn will remain involved in a consultant role.
