Atlas shortlisted for ARC19 Innovation Award

The Atlas Building of Eindhoven University of Technology has been nominated for the ARC19 Innovation Award. The other nominees in this category are Paul de Ruiter Architects and GAAGA, with respectively Biosintrum and CiWoCo 1.0 in Amsterdam. On 7 November the jury will announce the winner during the festive ARC19 Awards Ceremony in Pakhuis West Amsterdam.

The robust TU/e main building from 1963 has been transformed into a transparent and energy-efficient university building. The design of Atlas combines optimum reuse with state-of-the-art materials and smart technology. The result is an intelligent building that can adapt to future developments, so that it is also “smart” in 2050.

The ARC Awards is an important Dutch architecture prize that is organized annually by De Architect. This year, projects were nominated in the categories Architecture, Urbanism, Interior, Furniture, Detail, Innovation and Development.
