The Atlas Building of Eindhoven University of Technology has been nominated for the Gouden Kikker / Nederlandse Duurzaam Bouwen Awards (Dutch Sustainable Building Awards): “The renovation of the Atlas Building shows that renovation pays off. The jury particularly appreciates that a number of innovations came from the user, the university, such as the lighting plan. Users were intensively involved in the project, which has also made it a very comfortable building. ”The other nominees in this category are Integraal Kindcentrum Magenta, Delden and Triodos Bank, De Reehorst.

The awards go to organizations that distinguish themselves in the field of sustainability. The independent jury selected the contenders within two categories: the most sustainable project and the most sustainable client. During the Duurzaam Bouwen Congress on 6 February 2020 in Assen, the winners will be announced, as the Public Choice Award.

The parties
are nominated for the scalability of the projects and the integrated approach.
This means that projects are not only distinguished by the measures of energy,
but also pay attention to the environmental impact of the applied building
materials and health aspects. In addition, the involvement of residents, users
or other stakeholders in the project is an important point of attention.

Dutch Sustainable Building Awards
The Dutch Sustainable Building Awards are an initiative of the Foundation for Sustainable Building Awards, in which abnova, W/E advisers, FSC Netherlands and Sustainable Building have joined forces and aim to stimulate the sustainability of the built environment.
