Mediavaert wins Office Building of the Year by Architectenweb!

Mediavaert DPG Media wins Architectenweb Awards as ‘Office Building of the Year‘! The jury report stated: “The hybrid construction of mainly timber- and only steel and concrete where necessary – is of course one of the important praiseworthy aspects of Mediavaert. The large building has an exceptionally low CO² emission, an energy-efficient design and smart use of technologies. The jury appreciates the generally calm colour scheme and materialisation. The rounded shapes and the use of colour create, both in the interior and the exterior, a light and soft appearance. Mediavaert is a particularly sustainable office building, which is still rare to this extent and at this size.”

This year, the jury for the project awards consisted of architect Paul Stavert (Powerhouse Company), architect Laura Favata (De Unie Architecten), architect Ellen Schild (Studio Groen+Schild), architect Joost Roefs (De Twee Snoeken), architect Jörn-Ole Stellmann (Wiegerinck) and landscape architect Deborah Lambert (Felixx).

In the category Office Building of the Year 2024, the jury nominated five projects. In addition to Mediavaert, these were The City Post in Zwolle, by Architekten Cie., Ard de Vries Architects and Fokkema & Partners Architects, DW02 Lighthouse in Amsterdam by Benthem Crouwel Architects, KBF Warehouse in Amsterdam by NEXT Architects and the Bennebroek Fire Station, by studio Nuy van Noort.

The entries for the Office Building of the Year 2024 award were assessed on social relevance, craftsmanship, innovation and sustainability.
