On 15 June 2022, Yvie Overhoeks attained its highest point in construction at 110 meters. A gathering of stakeholders ceremoniously shoveled the last pour of concrete on the roof of the hotel tower to mark the occasion. After this official moment the party continued on the ground floor with a BBQ to thank the approximately 350 people who work on this project on a daily basis. The flags hanging from the crane represent the 35 nationalities of employees and builders. While Yvie’s highest point has been reached, the work continues on the interior and finishing of the two towers. Yvie is expected to be completed at the end of 2023.
Yvie is part of an ensemble of six high rise buildings in the new Overhoeks district on the northern banks of Amsterdam’s River IJ. The 110m hotel tower is the tallest in the ensemble, while the residential tower reaches 101 meters. Together the two Yvie towers and the low rise building between them comprise 176 luxury rental apartments, 120 extended-stay apartments, a 580-room congress hotel with a conference venue for 4,000 people, a wellness center with swimming pool, a number of restaurants and bars and 2.000 m² of office space.
