Our project Crossover became runner up at the AAP – Amsterdam Architecture Prize! Project architect Anne van Schooten presented in three minutes at the award ceremony and she stole the show. The rightful winner was the project Alliander Westpoort, by De Zwarte Hond ism De Urbanisten. Congratulations!

The jury report: “This ambitious project on the Zuidas (financial district of Amsterdam), a multifunctional building with both office spaces and social housing, including 120 rental properties for students and status holders, was well received by the jury. What stands out are the architectural details and the high-quality design that fits within the context of the neighborhood. The jury also compliments the initiative to promote social interaction between residents of social housing. Collaboration with Lieven de Key in the design process is also very inspiring. The jury also notes that, although the program appears to be based on integration and connection, almost all programmatic functions such as restaurants, offices, owner-occupied homes and rental properties have their own entrance. Meeting opportunities for the various users of the complex was not the most important starting point.”
