Team V Architecture will design the new residential tower The Riethuis in Monnickendam: the landmark of the developments in the Galgeriet district. Due to its shape, size (sixty apartments) and height (nine floors), the residential tower becomes a striking beacon in the city silhouette. The tower will have the characteristic and recognizable roof shape, which refers to the sheds in the area. It is a well-known local archetype that is both iconic and familiar. An eye-catching restaurant and other facilities will be designed in the plint.
In Monnickendam, the former Galgeriet industrial estate is being redeveloped by Hoorne Vastgoed and BPD Development into an attractive residential, working and shopping area. The first phase of the project consists of 350 dwellings, a supermarket and a restaurant.
