Marlies Zwols joined Team V in 2026 as Managing Director a.i. With a background in architecture and more than twenty years of experience within the architectural practice, she combines an understanding of architecture and the design process with extensive experience in business management, strategy and organizational development.
Marlies studied Architecture at Delft University of Technology, specializing in restoration and renovation. She also studied interior architecture at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Perugia, Italy. She started her career as a junior designer at Merkx+Girod in Amsterdam and subsequently joined Van den Oever, Zaaijer & Partners, now OZ**, where she, after completing a Marketing Master, developed from architect and project manager to Marketing Manager and ultimately Managing Director.
Drawing on her background in managing an architectural practice, Marlies combines strategic and organizational development with a strong understanding of the architectural profession. At Team V, she focuses on further developing the organization and sustaining the conditions in which people, projects and the practice can thrive. She brings together business management, finance, HR, business development and organizational strategy, always seeking a balance between creative and societal ambitions and a healthy, future-proof practice.
In addition to her work at Team V, Marlies is actively involved in the wider architecture and real estate sector. She initiated the Amsterdam Architects Roundtable (AAO) and is involved in several advisory and professional networks, including Holland Property Plaza, BNA and the Urban Land Institute.
