Maria graduated cum laude with a Master’s degree in Architectural Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, in 2024. Her thesis project, ‘Metecho: An Architectural Narrative at a Medieval Ruin’, was nominated for the prestigious EUmies Awards Young Talent 2025. The project focused on the revival of an abandoned monastic property dating from 1530 in the countryside of Epanomi. The animation she created to accompany her thesis was selected for screening at various film and animation festivals in Greece, Denmark, Portugal, Colombia, Macau and more.
During her studies, Maria completed an internship at MVRDV in Rotterdam, which inspired her to return to the Netherlands after graduating. Her interest in combining the adaptive reuse of historic buildings with sustainable new buildings led her to apply for a position at Team V, where she started in early 2025. She really enjoys contributing to the concept phase of projects and hopes to follow a project from start to finish in the future. At the moment she is involved in various design competitions, including the transformation of an office building and a university building.
