Jeroen van Schooten

Role
Architect, Director

Jeroen van Schooten is architect-director and founding partner of Team V Architecture. Under his creative direction, a role shared with partner Do Janne Vermeulen, Jeroen ensures our professionals are supported and inspired to work closely together as one solid team, to consistently attain Team V’s vision for quality, sustainability and a high level of detail.

Complex projects are Jeroen’s speciality. He thrives when working together with large groups of stakeholders to create consensus and achieve innovative, integrated and sustainable building solutions. Jeroen works on many different kinds of high-level projects, including major transit hubs, cultural and government buildings, monumental renovations, urban transformations, lively educational environments, as well as sustainable housing at different scales.

Previously, Jeroen was one of the founding partners of Meyer en Van Schooten Architecten. After almost thirty years with the company, he moved on to launch Team V Architecture together with Do Janne and former partner Gerard van Hoorn in 2013. Soon Team V will celebrate its first decennial. In this decade Team V has grown from thirteen to almost sixty employees.

Jeroen has held many additional roles, such as chairman of the Royal Institute of Dutch Architects (BNA), and from 2008 to 2017 as board member of the Dutch Green Building Council, the organization promoting sustainability. In the past years Jeroen has been on the jury of several architecture awards, such as the BNA Building of the Year Award, the Living Daylight Award and the ARC Awards. He has also chaired the Professional Experience Program (PEP) for a new generation of Dutch architects since 2018. Jeroen is a frequently asked expert in architecture debates: he often gives lectures, hosts podcasts and joins workshops.
