Aafke obtained her master’s degree in Architecture from Delft University of Technology in 2005. She spent the first years of her career working at SeARCH and Claus en Kaan Architects. She subsequently worked at Meyer & Van Schooten Architects on various projects, including a housing and office complex in Nyon, Switzerland and a new development including offices, laboratories and research facilities for TNO Defense and Security in Cromstrijen.

Aafke’s expertise and professional satisfaction lies in supervising projects with specific challenges, such as special user- or technical requirements, whether it’s for a large complex development or a compact volume with a special program.

Aafke is currently working on YVIE on the banks of Amsterdam’s River IJ, and on a pavilion in the former vegetable garden of the Rosa and Rita Monastery in Amsterdam North.
