In the coming four years Team V will work on the renovation of the Diakonessenhuis in Utrecht. On 23 February 2018 Team V and installation consultancy Sweegers and de Bruijn signed an agreement with the Diakonessenhuis to completely renovate the hospital.
This means that in the next four years a renewed hospital will rise on the location in the Utrecht. The location in Zeist will receive an upgrade. Construction manager Jeroen Heintzbergen of the Diakonessenhuis: “We chose these two parties because they do not see the work as a series of separate projects, but consider the project as one overall design. Together we will develop a new hospital at the existing location.”
Making a difference
The Diakonessenhuis has been the main hospital for the city and region of Utrecht for almost 175 years. Architect-director of Team V, Do Janne Vermeulen: “A project like the Diakonessenhuis is socially relevant, it really makes a difference to people. At Team V we look forward to this collaboration. We intend to renew this historic city hospital and make it ready for the future. Patients, family and employees deserve a beautiful environment in which they immediately feel at ease. ”
