The headquarters of the Dutch Armed Forces (Kromhout Barracks) are a working environment for 4,200 people, integrated into the landscape, with respect for the existing historical monuments. In this project, the consortium was responsible for the total package of design, construction, financing, maintenance and operation.
With this type of DBFMO procurement, more is expected of the architect than usual in terms of the longevity of the design and materials. An intelligent logistical design and an outspoken atmosphere contribute to a comfortable complex.
